D-STAR
A new vanity call of W5HDR has just been issued for the downtown D-Star location. Think W5-Houston-Digital-Repeater! It has only just been approved and may not appear in the online databases yet, eg. WM7D.net, QRZ and ARRL databases
The 4 D-Star repeaters that will be placed downtown will be: - 2m digital voice and low speed data - 440MHz digital voice and low speed data - 1200Mhz digital voice - 1200MHz high speed data (or is it really an access point?)
This call will be used on all 4 downtown repeaters that are connected to one controller. They will probably be named
something like:
W5HDR A
W5HDR B
W5HDR C
W5HDR D
There will also be new vanity calls for the other 2 sets of repeaters, that is the 4 similar repeaters at Tomball and 4 in the Galleria area. But these will be announced later as they are approved.
