Operation Resources

Field operations manual

Everyone should have a "Field Operatons Manual". What is it? Its a 8 1/2" x 11" three ring notebook in which they have most if not all of the following. You don't need to print / copy it all at once but have a plan for putting a good binder together that will assist you when deployed. You can begin by printing out the most important things like your license, contacts, repeater info, net info, and a few of the forms. Have a small "stack" of the ARRL radio-gram and ICS-213.

Next make copies of your manuals. You don't need to copy everything, just the pages that will help you remember how to program in those repeaters that you currently don't have in the memory. After that print the communication plans for the Section and District and the ARES field manual.

Go kits

Everyone should have a "Go (ready) kit". In reality everyone should have two go-kits. One would be for your personal items, the second would be for you communications gear.
